While Family Practitioners devote much of their time to treating sick and injured patients, emphasis is placed on improving the patient’s future health through prevention and health maintenance. Family Practitioners train in every area of medicine, including gynecological care, minor surgery, and geriatrics. In addition, Dr. Stafford has training and experience with ailments resulting from emotional difficulty and personal stress.
Physician Assistants are taught diagnostic skills to assist the physician in caring for patients in a wide array of settings. A Physician Assistant works closely with his supervising physician to provide the best possible patient care. As an experienced Physician Assistant, Gene Preston is available to see patients with all types of acute illnesses and those needing physical examinations. He provides preventive medicine services including PAP and breast examinations and well-baby check-ups. He will see new patients as well as do follow-up evaluations for patients with chronic medical conditions and patients with urgent problems.
